The two French exams that matter for Indians.
One is a test, the other is a diploma. TCF is rolled out on the CEFR scale from A1 to C2 with a two year validity. DELF is a diploma awarded at a fixed level for life. Picking the wrong one wastes a session fee and three months of prep.
TCF
Test de Connaissance du Français. Places you on the CEFR scale from A1 to C2 in a single sitting. Four public variants including TCF IRN for residency and nationality, plus TCF DAP and TCF SO for academic contexts.
