If you applied for a master's degree in France through the Mon Master portal, the main admission phase opens on Tuesday 3 June 2026 and runs through Monday 16 June. The calendar comes from an arrêté dated 13 February 2026, and the response deadlines are tighter than most candidates expect.
The calendar
Main phase (3 to 16 June):
- Proposals received between 3 and 5 June: respond by the end of 6 June.
- Proposals received from 6 to 15 June: respond by 23:59 Paris time the following day.
- Alternance (apprenticeship) candidates: proposals start arriving on 12 June.
Complementary phase, 17 June to 19 July (for candidates who did not get admitted in the main phase, or who want to add new wishes):
- 19 to 25 June: submit new applications and rank candidacies by preference.
- 26 June to 6 July: universities examine the new applications.
- 10 to 19 July: admission responses go out.
What it means for you
For Indian aspirants, this window decides whether your VLS-TS student visa application becomes possible (you accept an offer, receive an attestation d'inscription, book the Campus France interview) or stalls completely. Two practical traps catch people every year:
- You have 24 hours to respond, not days. If you live in IST, that lands around 3:30 am Paris time the next morning, which is 7:00 am IST the day after. Miss it and the offer lapses automatically.
- Provisional acceptance matters. When you accept while still on the waiting list for a stronger choice, your seat at the weaker option stays held. But if you let the next deadline slip, both can disappear.
What to do
- Turn on push notifications in the Mon Master portal and pin it to your home screen today. The notification email goes to the address you registered with.
- Decide your acceptance order in advance. Build a ranked list of programmes now so you do not have to think under deadline pressure.
- If you are admitted to a choice that is not your top one, accept provisoirement (provisionally) and stay on the waiting list. Never refuse outright unless a better offer is already in hand.
- If nothing arrives in the main phase, do not panic. The complementary phase opens on 19 June with fresh capacity.
- Once you have a definitive offer, start the Campus France and VFS process immediately. The Pastel platform and OFII appointment chains can take six to eight weeks.
