The Mitra Network lets you share jobs, apartments, internships, deals, case logs, meet-ups and other useful signals with people building a life in France. When you contribute, you agree to the terms below and to the general FranceMitra Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
1. Who can contribute
Every contribution requires a signed-in FranceMitra account with a verified email. You submit on your own behalf, not on behalf of an employer, agency, or third party unless you have explicit authorisation. You confirm that you are at least 15 years old (the legal digital age of consent in France).
2. What we accept
- Real, first-hand information you observed or verified yourself.
- Content that is legal in France and in the jurisdiction of the person it concerns.
- Listings where you have permission to share the source (job posting, apartment listing, deal code).
- Case logs that describe your own administrative journey, without exposing another person's private data.
3. What we do not accept
- False, exaggerated, or misleading information, including expired offers presented as current.
- Discriminatory, hateful, sexually explicit, or violent content.
- Scams, phishing, chain letters, MLM recruitment, or fake job posts that ask for upfront payment.
- Copyright or trademark infringement, including copying full articles or paid content.
- Personal data about someone else (email, phone, home address, ID numbers) unless that person is a business contact who has published that information publicly.
- Legal or medical advice presented as authoritative. Share information, not diagnoses or verdicts.
- Political campaigning, religious proselytising, or targeting a specific community with hostile content.
4. How moderation works
Every submission enters a queue and is reviewed by our team, usually within 48 hours. Approval publishes the entry to the relevant Mitra Network surface, credits your points ledger, and updates your Mitra rank. Rejection returns your submission with a reason. Points are only awarded on approval.
We may accept a submission with edits (spelling, formatting, missing structure). We may also ask you to add proof (screenshot, official link) before publication. If we cannot verify a claim, we default to rejection.
5. Points, reversal, and account limits
Points earned through approved submissions can be spent on rewards inside FranceMitra. Points do not convert to cash, cannot be transferred to another account, and expire under the rules in the Mitra Network catalogue.
If a submission is later found to be false, plagiarised, or in breach of these terms, we reverse the associated points and mark the ledger entry as reversed. Repeated bad-faith submissions can result in suspension of your ability to contribute, or in serious cases a full account restriction under the general Terms of Service.
6. Referral fraud
The Mitra referral loop rewards genuine introductions to friends who are actually planning to move to France or already living there. Creating fake accounts to redeem your own code, using disposable email domains at scale, or coordinating with other users to farm points is fraud. Confirmed cases lead to reversal of all referral points and revocation of any Premium extension you earned that way.
7. What we do with your submission
Approved submissions are published on FranceMitra with your Mitra rank and, at your discretion, your Mitra handle. Your legal identity, email, and other personal data are not published. Submissions may be used to train the Mitra AI system on how community members phrase real questions, but any AI use is restricted to internal quality work; we do not sell submissions to third parties.
You keep ownership of the content you submit. By submitting, you grant FranceMitra a worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, adapt, translate, and archive your submission for the operation of the service. You can request removal at any time via the contact form; we will remove it within 30 days unless legal retention requires otherwise.
8. Reporting a problem
If you spot a listing that appears false, expired, discriminatory, or dangerous, use the flag icon on the listing or write to hello@francemitra.com. We aim to review reported content within 24 hours.
9. No professional advice
FranceMitra is a community platform, not a legal, immigration, medical, tax, or financial adviser. Nothing on Mitra Network, whether posted by us or by a contributor, is a substitute for professional advice regulated by French law. Always verify claims against an official source (service-public.gouv.fr, ANEF, Ameli, CAF, your prefecture) before acting on them.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the community grows and new contribution types launch. Material changes will be highlighted with a banner on /mitra-network and noted in the Last updated line at the top of this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
